Dryden, NY (June 24, 2024) Internet service in Dryden and Caroline will soon be vastly expanded, thanks to a successful grant submitted by Dryden Fiber, a broadband provider operated by the Town of Dryden. Federal, state, and local officials gathered at Dryden Town Hall today to celebrate the news. The competitive grant was awarded by the New York State ConnectALL Office’s Municipal Infrastructure Program, after an extensive review process. Dryden Fiber is the only municipally owned and operated internet service provider in New York State.  

On February 7th, 2024, WSKG aired (during Morning Edition) and posted a story about rural communities and getting residents online. The story features Dryden Fiber with comments by Town Supervisor Jason Leifer, Deputy Town Supervisor Dan Lamb, and chair of the Tompkins County Legislature Dan Klein. On Monday, Assemblymember Anna Kelles and local officials in Dryden celebrated the passage of legislation introduced during this year’s legislative session that promises to reshape the telecommunications landscape for residents across New York State.
